Seven national sports stars - gymnasts Tong Fei, Li Xiaoshuang and Yang Wei, divers Qin Kai and He Zi, sport shooter Guo Wenjun and badminton star Zhao Yunlei – were invited to share their experiences with teachers and students of the colleges. Together they have won 12 Olympics gold medals and more than 40 gold medals at world championships. They talked about how they prepared for the Olympic Games and their life experiences growing up. They encouraged students to participate more in sports, which would not only benefit their physical health but also help them to develop a positive and aspirational outlook on life. The students all said that they learnt the spirit of perseverance from the athletes, and asked them to autograph their college uniforms as mementos.
