Funding Policy

The University of Macau is the sole beneficiary of the UMDF. Donations to the Foundation are classed according to the donor’s wishes as general endowment or designated fund for specific uses. In its new five-year plan for general developments and directions, the University initiates a strategy with multidimensional perspectives to enhance the overall development, to further promote the internationalisation, to attract the best faculty, and to advance its research capacity. Meanwhile, in line with the latest trends in higher education, research and innovation, the University continues to optimise its unique ‘4-in-1’ education and implements a novel research blueprint, under which UM vigorously promotes interdisciplinary research and collaboration. In order to facilitate UM to attain its academic and educational goals, the Foundation expanded its support for the University, by subsidising various projects and activities with the expected revenue from the fixed investments.
