About a hundred of students from the Cheong Kun Lun College (CKLC), the Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC), Stanley Ho East Asia College (SHEAC) participated in the Cantonese Culture Experience Programme that aimed to provide an opportunity for students of the University of Macau to experience Cantonese culture. It was also intended to promote cultural exchange and friendship between students from Macao and mainland China while deepening their understanding of Cantonese Culture, which consists of the cultures of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao.
Students visited well-known cultural attractions such as the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the Archaeological Site Museum of Nanyue Palace, Foshan Ancestral Temple, Foshan Lingnan World, and the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln. They also had a try of pottery making and Cantonese embroidery, and watched Cantonese opera. Through this program, students not only had the opportunity to explore Cantonese culture and history in depth, but also experienced the rapid development of the Pearl River Delta region and its vibrant urban atmosphere.
