The CKYC held its first 2018/2019 High Table Dinner on 27 September and the donor’s representative joined the event. College Master Kevin Zhen started the dinner with a public reading of the UM motto. Then, Mr. Johnson Choi, the donor’s representative, gave a keynote speech with the topic “Inspiration from the Starry Night to the Responsibility”, in which he shared with the other guests and students a trending subject -- the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. His speech began with the stories of his grandfather -- the late Mr. Choi Kai Yau -- a frugal and diligent man who was committed to building a stronger nation through science and education. The speaker encouraged young people not only to perform well in their majors but also to think critically, develop their emotional intelligence (EQ) and adversity quotient (AQ), and contribute to the future of the nation.
