The UM Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2018 was held in September to award scholarships to outstanding students. In 2017/2018, a total donation of MOP4 million for academic prizes and scholarships was received from over 50 institutions and individuals, benefiting more than 400 students. Part of the scholarships and awards were granted by UMDF according to donor’s wishes and UMDF’s aims, including the Choi Kai Yau Scholarship and Academic Prizes, the Bank of China Scholarship and Academic Prizes，Hendra Nagaria Scholarship and the UMDF Scholarship and Fellowship. UM Rector Song Yonghua expressed congratulations to the scholarship recipients and gratitude to the donors. He said that the donations from various institutions and individuals showed their recognition of the university’s effort in promoting higher education development in Macao in the past three decades. He was also pleased to see the outstanding achievements of the scholarship awardees in various aspects, testifying to UM’s status as an international comprehensive university.
