Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC) of the University of Macau (UM) and Xiuzhong College of Tsinghua University became sister colleges. The two colleges will jointly explore the reform and development of the residential college system and carry out comprehensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation.
In the presence of UM Rector Yonghua Song and Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University Qiu Yong, Interim Master of HFPJC Mok Kai Meng and Dean of Xiuzhong College Hu Hongying signed a memorandum of understanding on educational cooperation to establish a sister-college relationship. The two colleges will jointly explore the reform and development of the college system, promote the quality of talent cultivation in colleges, and carry out comprehensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the residential college system, scientific and educational forums, innovative practices, and cultural education.
The establishment of the sister-college relationship is part of the strategic cooperation between UM and Tsinghua University. In addition, the two universities will also promote in-depth cooperation in talent cultivation, academic research, and library resources, with the aim of facilitating the development of higher education and scientific research in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and contributing to the shared goal of establishing both universities as first-class universities with Chinese characteristics.
