Choi Kai Yau College (CKYC) arranged for a group of students to attend the concert ‘Unforgettable melodies at St. Dominic’s Church’ to enrich their lives after class and cultivate their interest in music.
The Macao Orchestra is a local music performance group. Composed of young musicians from more than ten countries and regions, the orchestra aims to integrate Chinese and Western cultures and bring high-quality classical music performances to the audience in Macao. 13 musical works were performed during the concert, including The Barber of Seville, Lady of the Camellias (Prelude), and the soundtrack of the famous movie Cinema Paradise. The programme included pure orchestral performances as well as pieces that incorporate soprano singing. Sitting in the elegantly decorated St. Dominic’s Church and listening to the music blending human voice and instrumental music, the students enjoyed a wonderful evening with nice visuals and sound.
CKYC attaches great importance to the cultural engagement of students. This activity allowed students to observe an orchestra from a close distance and provided them with the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of classical music.
