From 30 June to 6 July 2019, the LCWC organised a trip for students to visit Teikyo University and the University of Tokyo in Tokyo and held exchanges with teachers and students there. This programme aims to provide opportunities for students to learn about universities in Japan and Japanese culture through exchange. Seven students participated in the one-week trip which was led by Prof Yip Ming Chuen, master of the LCWC. They joined class discussions in the two universities to obtain a first-hand understanding of tertiary education in Japan. They also attended dinners with local students in traditional restaurants, participated in cultural activities, and visited some renowned historical sites in Tokyo that allowed them to gain a better understanding of the food culture, traditions and history of Japan. LCWC students look forward to join this annual programme each year.
