Choi Kai Yau College (CKYC) of the University of Macau (UM) held an event called ‘Meeting with Men’s Crew of Yale University’ to give students the opportunity to interact with outstanding rowing athletes. The event began with an interactive session where students engaged in discussions with the rowing team members. The student athletes shared their personal experiences, training routines, and the challenges they face as athletes. The students were impressed by their dedication and perseverance. After the interactive session, the rowing team members shared rowing techniques, and the students actively participated and improved their skills under the guidance of the student athletes.

The event was well received. One of the participating students said, ‘Meeting the rowing team of Yale University is a great experience. Although we are all undergraduates, their mindset and understanding of things are truly on another level.’ Another participant expressed admiration for the team members’ sportsmanship and said, ‘I am amazed by the level of expertise of the Yale team. They are not only talented athletes but also humble and approachable individuals.’ The activity inspired the students and gave them a deeper understanding of high-level rowing athletes.
