Since its establishment in 2013, Moon Chun Memorial College (MCMC) of the University of Macau (UM) has strengthened its ties with the local community through music. This year, MCMC’s ensemble performed at the cocktail reception of France Macau Chamber of Commerce’s Charity Gala Dinner ‘Paris Extravaganza’. Led by MCMC resident fellow Dr Peggy Lau and college affiliate Dr Katy Ho Weatherly, the ensemble performed a series of selected works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Piazzolla, and Pachelbel, as well as film scores. Members of the college ensemble demonstrated their musical talents, boosted their self-confidence, and gained valuable experience through the musical performance. Their highly professional performance also won plaudits from the audience.

By engaging students in a variety of activities, MCMC seeks to develop students’ talents in arts and culture, as well as to enhance their global perspectives, English language proficiency, and sporting prowess.
